Zichi Wang received the PhD degree in information and communication engineering from Shanghai University, China in 2020. He is currently with the School of Communication and Information Engineering, Shanghai University, Shanghai, as an Associate professor. His research interests include steganography, steganalysis, and artificial intelligence security. He has published over 100 papers in these areas. Gülşen Akman is a Professor and Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Kocaeli University, Türkiye. She received her Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and has over twenty-five years of academic and industrial experience in production systems, quality engineering, technology management, artificial intelligence, and decision support systems. Her research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twin technologies, Industry 4.0/5.0, smart manufacturing, digital transformation, sustainable supply chain management, healthcare analytics, technology and innovation management, machine learning, explainable AI, and multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM). She has published extensively in internationally recognized SCI/SSCI journals and has successfully supervised numerous master's and doctoral theses. Prof. Akman has conducted international research at Pennsylvania State University, USA, and the University of Artois, France. She leads and participates in several national and international research projects, including Erasmus+ initiatives, and collaborates closely with industry in developing AI-based decision-support solutions for manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and maritime systems. She serves as a reviewer for leading international journals and funding agencies and has delivered keynote and invited speeches at international conferences. Her current research focuses on AI- enabled digital twins, intelligent optimization, smart ports, resilient and sustainable industrial systems, explainable artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics for strategic decision-making. Michal WitoldPrzewozniczek received the M.Sc., Ph.D., and DSc. degrees in computer science in 2003, 2012, and 2021, respectively, from Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (WUST), Poland. He serves as an associate professor at WUST in the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology. In 2019, while associated with WUST, he also worked as a researcher at the Department of Computer Science, The University of York, England. In the spring of 2026, Michal was holding the Visiting Researcher position at Centrum Wiskunde&Informatica (CWI) in Amsterdam. Michal’s research concentrates on the application of evolutionary algorithms to practical problems, with a particular interest in black-box optimization scenarios. To achieve this objective, he investigates linkage learning techniques, gray-box optimization, dynamic population management, and other related mechanisms. His recent research concentrates on the low-cost dependency discovery in black-box scenarios, proposing new gray-box-related operators (that can also be utilized in black-box), investigating the dependency nature in real-world scenarios, including irrelevant dependency filtering, and the formal analysis of the optimization problems' features. For almost 20 years, Michal was a co-owner (and co-founder) of a software company aiming at producing systems based on the recent advances in the AI field. He invented and implemented many prototype systems in the industry. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation journal and a reviewer of many leading journals and conferences (including GECCO, FOGA, and PPSN). Gul Muhammad received his Ph.D. in Mechanical and Mechatronic engineering from Zhejiang University, China, in December 2024. He is currently a researcher affiliated with Zhejiang University and NingboTech University, Ningbo, China. His research interests include thermal energy harvesting, phase change materials, metal-foam-enhanced heat transfer, thermal energy storage, and artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) for thermal performance prediction and energy system optimization. His recent research focuses on the experimental investigation and optimization of phase change materials-metal foam composites for enhanced thermal energy harvesting, the development and experimental validation of an ocean thermal energy conversion prototype, and the application of artificial neural networks for rapid prediction of thermal energy performance. Mario Pavone is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Catania, Italy. His research interests span several areas, ranging from metaheuristics and Automated Deep Learning to collective intelligence and computational biology, with a particular emphasis on integrating optimization and artificial intelligence methodologies to address complex real-world problems. Since January 2023, he has served as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Swarm Intelligence. He is also an Associate Editorfor several leading international journals, including Applied Soft Computing, Decision Analytics Journal, Soft Computing, and Discover Computing, and serves on the editorial boards of numerous international journals. He is actively involved in the scientific community as a member of the Program Committees of several renowned international conferences. He is the founder and Chief of the Scientific Directors of the Metaheuristics Summer School (MESS), an international initiative dedicated to advanced education and research in metaheuristics and computational intelligence. Lisa-Dionne Morris is Professor of Public & Industry Understanding of Capability Driven Design in the School of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Leeds. She is an accomplished design engineer, academic leader and industry strategist with more than 30 years of industry consultancy experience and over 20 years of academic and international engagement. Her work focuses on capability-driven design, human-centred innovation, frugal innovation and the development of solutions that respond to real-world societal needs. She has worked extensively with industry, government, universities and communities across Africa, the Caribbean and Central America. Professor Morris founded the AKTO Virtual Centre of Excellence for Frugal Innovation and Design and the Black Female Academics’ Network (BFAN), supporting inclusive academic development and leadership. She also contributes to international strategic partnerships and serves in advisory and governance roles spanning education, engineering and innovation.
